I really appreciated this, especially the question of how much future use of AI will be in existing applications vs in AI-specific tools, and thanks for the links you included.
Thanks Bryan. Not sure if I can keep this up. ButI’m attempting to keep my bsky account for my AI resistance and use mastodon ( https://social.ds106.us/@weblearning ) for proper ed tech conversations. A dumb distinction, because of AI looming integration. And real (declarative, procedural etc) knowledge can’t be compartmented.
Well, it is the least exciting, least sexy, least talked about social network. And its interface is ancient. I agree with all of this.
But! Over the past few years I've found I tend to get reliably recent comments and find some good posts. I haven't read or done a study as to why - I'm curious about who uses LinkedIn this way - but I appreciate the discussion. More than on some other platforms.
Thanks so much for these notes. It tracks very much what is happening in my institution. I was particularly taken by your comments on the hype cycle and the adoption model.
We have formed a learning community to explore how to incorporate AI tools and reach digital literacy. Also, I am the director of a program that prepares K-12 CS teachers and I have developed a course on AI in Education.

Thank you, Margie. I'll keep sharing links - and we should watch for the immersion of AI into apps.
Thanks Bryan. Very helpful. Shard on Bsky. Where I see you are also to be found.
Belated thanks, Derek. Yes, I'm angling in Bluesky. We'll see where it goes.

Gotcha. Just followed you on Mastodon.
Twitter is fun for observing the boosters. But I no longer engage there.
I'm still getting some good interactions on Twitter/X.
More on LinkedIn, actually.
I’m pleased and proud to say that I have an irrational dislike for LinkedIn. 🫤

Thank you, Gerald.
Can you say more about what people are doing at your campus?

Excellent on both counts. Delighted to learn about your class - are any materials shareable?
All feedback, comments, and suggestions welcome.
Sure. Here is the course outline: https://github.com/drardito/CS-Ed-Data-and-AI/blob/main/AI%20and%20Education%20Course%20Outline.md
Thanks Gerald. I appreciate your comments and use of GitHub. Followed you there.
Thanks so much.
